Why do we say "to sort the sheep from the goats"?
the German version is "die Spreu vom Weizen trennen" and it makes much more sense.
"To take the plunge" ladies and gentlemen is "den Sprung wagen" in German. Both of those sound sensible.

Group Lessons
A new series of lessons begins this week.
During the next ten weeks the conversation class will be structured as follows:
i) Short grammar input
ii) Grammar practice / discussion
iii) Listening comprehension (using material from BBC Learning English Website)
iv) Vocabulary practice
v) Advanced reading comprehension (using material from Guardian Unlimited Online)
vi) Advanced discussion
vi) Book extract (depending on time)
During this series we will work with the following books:
"Grammar Spectrum 1. English rules and practice" by Ken Paterson (1995)
"The Tipping Point. How little things can make a big difference" by Malcolm Gladwell (2000)
In addition we will work on the following grammar topics:
i) Simple Past and Past Continuous
ii) Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continuous
iii) Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous
Tuesday mornings, 08:30 - 10:00 (13th May until 15th July)
